Final Year Internship (End-of-Studies Project) (March 2025 - August 2025) — Akjoujt, Mauritania
Designed and implemented a comprehensive enterprise data platform addressing critical data fragmentation challenges in the Security Department. The solution comprised three integrated components:
- Security Financial Workflow Management System (SFWMS): Developed a React/Django web application centralizing financial management with automated workflows, complete audit traceability, and 6-role RBAC security model.
- PostgreSQL Data Warehouse: Implemented a Medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold layers) with star schema design for structured reporting and business intelligence, orchestrated via Apache Airflow with dbt transformations.
- Data Lakehouse Pipeline: Engineered a high-performance analytical platform leveraging Delta Lake and ClickHouse, delivering 35-45× faster query performance for ad-hoc analytics compared to traditional approaches.
The platform integrated six heterogeneous data sources using advanced techniques including Change Data Capture (Debezium/Kafka), REST APIs (FastAPI), NLP, OCR, and Pattern Recognition via Spark ETL processors achieving 96-100% success rates. Deployed entirely on-premises using open-source technologies (Apache Spark, Airflow, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, Delta Lake, MinIO, dbt, Apache Superset) via Docker, ensuring data sovereignty and regulatory compliance.
Key Achievements:
- 93% reduction in report consolidation time (4 hours → 10 minutes)
- 70% reduction in approval delays (6 days → 1.8 days)
- 97% improvement in incident analysis speed (1 hour → 2 minutes)
- Deployed 12 interactive Superset dashboards generating 500-800 daily queries (92% adoption rate)
- Processed 1,200+ monthly reports and 10,000+ daily events with 94.3% data quality validation success rate
- Prevented 247 data incidents through Great Expectations validation framework
- Achieved MTTR < 30 minutes through Prometheus/Grafana/Loki monitoring stack
- Enabled significant cost reduction (thousands of dollars annually) by eliminating proprietary licenses and cloud fees
